Job Overview: 
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing Project Work at regional locations within Alberta and  ensuring a safe and professional work environment, which fosters BEST culture, mission, and values. The role encompasses staff training, quality assurance with attention to detail at each stage of project, inspections, equipment maintenance and more.

Location: Alberta, BC

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Project Work at regional BEST locations 
  • Perform inspections ensuring performance standards are met as per Client and BEST’s expectations
  • Follow up with front line staff to correct deficiencies from inspections
  • Provide thorough training to staff on procedures and SOP’s and be the first point of contact for related questions
  • Train staff on equipment use and cleaning and monitor their performance;
  • Perform regular equipment checks and minor maintenance;
  • Ensure equipment is serviced in a prompt manner, preventing delays in current and future Project Work;
  • Provide on-going coaching to staff and encourage adherence to quality standards;
  • Report shortage of Project Work supplies;
  • Conduct performance reviews for Project Work staff;
  • Assess client requirements and work with Site Manage to implement quality assurance plans;
  • Act as a catalyst for change and quality assurance;
  • Abide by company safety rules and regulations;
  • Attend additional training courses, seminars/webinars, and equipment training to ensure leading industry best practices are utilized with a commitment to operational excellence;
  • Other duties as required per business needs.

Skills Required:

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office & understanding of income statements, forecasts etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Employment Standards Act & Occupational Health and Safety Act;
  • Strong leadership skills, servant mentality;
  • Excellent interpersonal & communicational (written & verbal) skills;
  • Intrinsic ability to effectively analyze, plan, prioritize, negotiate, & execute business’ strategic goals.
  • Technically inclined and able to properly and safely utilize equipment & vehicles;
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
  • Previous custodial project work experience an asset;
  • Multilingual ability considered an asset.

Education & Experience:

  • Business related post-secondary diploma/degree;
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with a focus on service, quality assurance, training, safety, & HR;
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract;
  • Acceptable security and criminal record check.
